Canon EOS Rebel T3i 600D 18MP DSLR Digital Camera [ Review ] | Get Fixed

Here fromGet Fixed and today's review is on the Canon EOS Rebel T3I.

After three seconds of usingthis device, I was immediately intrigued by it.

This was a major upgrade for me in termsof specification.

My previous camera, the Nikon D3000 did pretty well in terms of takingpictures.

With its 12 mega pixel sensor, the images come out quite sharp.

But I knew Ineeded an upgrade.

This camera is at least 10 years old, I know this because my dad gaveit to me.

To make matters worse, it does not record videos which is the main reason I wanteda camera.

The Canon EOS Rebel T3I comes with a 18-55millimeter stock lens, which also comes with a built in image stabilizer to reduce theshaky handheld effect.

I wouldn't recommend using the stabilizer on the stock lens becauseit is very hard to pinpoint the difference when the stabilizer is turned on.

The T3I contains a CMOS sensor which standsfor Complementary Metal Oxide Silicon.

It is ten times less sensitive than the CCD sensor.

I know many people say the size of the sensor does not matter too much in terms of gettinggreat quality images, but I still think the pixel counts plays a big role in sharpness.

Here are some sample videos I took with the Canon T3I.

I am currently using this and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to record these videos,all I need now is good lighting.

I am talking about the Sigma 35mm f1.

4 Art so black and sexy Ok, this entire video will be shot with the sigma 35mm… But first of all let me say a few words about this famous brand.

Sigma is a japanese company that manufactures cameras, flashes and other photograpic acessories.

But But they are best known for their lenses.

In 2013 Sigma renewed its entire catalogue creating three different lines of lenses the Art, the Sports and the Contemporarycreating three different lines of lenses the Art, the Sports and the Contemporary This Art serie, particularly, due to it's great optical performance is considered to be the professional line of the Sigma lenses In this way Sigma has entered straight into the field of high-end lenses that had ,until now, been dominated mainly by Canon , Nikon and Ziess.

To me It was love at first sight and when I held this 35mm in my hands for the first time it was very solid to the touch as if it were made of some sort of metal The focus ring is made with a high quality rubber that provides a perfect grip which is both comfortable and soft at the same time On the black body of the lens there is the silver A logo that indicates it belongs to the Art series and the auto-manual focus switch The 35mm Art is avaliable in the mount version for Canon -Nikon - Pentax - Sony reflex af mount and of course Sigma cameras.

Recently Sigma announced a dedicated adaprter , the MC-11 that allows you to use a Sigma canon mount with Sony E mirrorless bodies Furthermore , nodays Sigma lenses are more convenient because if you wanna move from one system to another they have their sigma mount conversion service The frontal diameter is 67mm and the aperture range is from f1.

4 to f16 This means that, when the diaphram is totally open this lens lets in a lot of light and the circulr 9 blades of the iris ensure an amazing blurred background effect better known as bokeh that makes the subject stand out more The minimum focal distance is 11.

8" or 30cm so you can focus pretty darn close to the subject This is definitely a big plus for me This lens doesn't have any stabilization so if you are making videos you will defenitely need some sort of stabilizer in camera or external Luckily, if you are a photographer and you are shoting in very dark coonditions at this focal lenght and at such wide aperture you really don't need any more than a tripod.

But now let me show you how two professional photographers Luigi Panico and Luca Concas, each one with his own style use this lens in the field The Sigma 35mm belongs to the category of the wide angle lenses and a lot of street photographers consider this focal lenght a must to have in their bag because along with the 50mm the 35, is cosidered to be the viewing angle of the human eye so it gives you a realistic perception of the world The sigma 35mm art is amazingly sharp.

Canon 600D vs Nikon D7000 DSLR Video Camera Review

Justin: In this video, we're going to comparethe Canon - Tyrone: Versus the Nikon and we're going totake these out for a field test.

Justin: So this is the Canon with the 24mm-105mm.

Tyrone: And I've got the Nikon, 18mm-105mm.

And we're going to actually go and try now to put this on a video test and show you howit works.

Both the Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras offer1080HD video resolutions.

Besides me trying to dance, the side by side comparisons showthat the Canon has better picture color than the Nikon.

Tyrone: This is the audio recording from theCanon.

Now this is the sound test fromthe Nikon.

We think the Canon is better at capturingsound regardless of the type of external microphone being used.

The audio quality on the Nikonis quite harsh and as you've heard, it is a bit distorting to the ears.

Justin: The next thing is storage.

With theCanon, I've got room for one SD card.

Tyrone: Guess what, for the Nikon, I've gottwo which is a lot better than yours.

Justin: However there's one thing that's coolabout Canons is that they come with Magic Lantern software so we can actually reducethe bitrate down and means we can get more videos on our SD cards.

Tyrone: By the way, just to mention, for thetwo cards I have on the Nikon, he's got one card so therefore he's actually doing exactlythe same capacity as what we're doing.

In actual fact, Canon and the Nikon has aboutthe same storage capacity.

I know all these cameras - both the Canon and the Nikon, youcan have interchangeable lenses.

For example, I can actually change this particular lensto another lens that's going to be a lot more effective for what I ever want to do.

Now,because the difference is that the Nikon - the way you actually mount the lenses on is thatit's the opposite way to what the Canon does.

So you're going to actually swing it to theright to unloosen and then swing it back to the left to tighten it up whereas the Canonis the opposite way around.

Now we've got quite a number of lenses, we've got one rightnow with the cameraman who's recording and also too we've got the kit lens there.

Sothe great thing about interchangeable lenses is that you can frame your different shotsfor different videos at different lenses.

Both cameras use rechargeable batteries andthey last between 2-3 hours per charge.

Ideally, it's good to have spare batteries when recordingvideos on these cameras as they do drain quite fast.

Justin: One cool thing that we have in Canonthat we don't quite have on the Nikon is one of these little - where if I really wantedto, I can film myself and see what's going on.

Tyrone: Unfortunately with the Nikon, whateverI do to try and pull this thing off, it won't come off.

So anyway, he's very lucky to havethat as an LCD screen and we're very productive to have that because we can just to it ourselveswithout having to have someone else to hold the camera across.

Another cool edition that the Nikon has whichthe Canon does not is the real time autofocus.

Where there's an object moving to anotherposition, the Nikon lens will detect and re-focus automatically.

In saying this, the latestCanons have this new option which is not featured in this video.

Let's take a look at the zoom for both camerasto test how it functions during video recording.

The Nikon seems to be good at auto adjustingand focusing on the object whereas the Canon does miss this slightly.

All right, so which one is better? Both camerashas its pros and cons.

The Canon has better color and sound quality over the Nikon whereasthe Nikon has dual memory card slots, performs better on zoom and has automatic focusingon their current lens.

Though, after doing the video test, I think the Canon is a bettercamera for video recording overall.

Now that's just a biased opinion.

All you need is your Canon Video DSLR,the software that came with it and an internet connection, basically It's really simple to do so let's get started so first off just take your EOS Digital SolutionsDisk and install the EOS Utility This should have come with your Canon Camera And next just plug in the usb cable that was supplied with your camera, in to the side Now, I'm using the Canon 60D.

Best Video Camera For Youtube - Kodak Zi8 and Canon 600D

Now, a very common question that people arealways, always asking is "What camera shall I use?" Because once you've recorded yourcontent like what I'm doing right now, you're going to have to send it over to your videoeditor.

So what is that's really, really quick and easy and also what is very efficient tobe able to get across to them.

And there's really two options.

One, is touse a very basic camera for people who are on a budget which I'm going to share withyou shortly.

Or two, use a little bit more advanced camera which is the current one thatI'm using right now to record on.

And both is really dependent on your budget and alsodepending on the quality of the video that you want to get out there.

Obviously the more you pay for a particularcamera, the better the quality you're going to get but it won't break an arm and a leg.

All right so the first one that I've beenusing for quite some time before I actually upgraded to this camera that I'm currentlyrecording on is a Kodak Zi8 camera.

This is a very nice, very thin and very light camerathat I've been using and I had a 32GB card in here to be able to record all my high definitionvideos.

Now the reason why this is a great camerais one, it has an external microphone which you can just plug in onto the side right overhere.

I don't know if you can see it actually right here but basically you just plug inthat condenser mic which is I'm going to talk a little bit more about that but plug thatstraight in, mount that into a tripod and then hit the remote to record where you canget a separate remote and you're up and away.

That's exactly what I did for quite a longtime.

When you have look at a lot of my videos, I had at least about almost 100 videos thatI recorded using the Kodak Zi8 camera.

And it's a great camera because it records inhigh definition and the video files are quite small in comparision.

So that's - that's what I would recommend.

I noticed that a lot of other people also recommend the Flip Mino, but unfortunatelythe Flip Mino doesn't have any of the external mic plugin unless you want to spend extramoney but this is a really good budget camera that you can pick up.

You can buy from Amazonor eBay or anything like that and I'll make sure I'll put a link down below so that wayyou can check it out directly.

So that one is very good because you can uploadeasily, send to your video editor and he'll be able to do it straightaway.

Now the second option which is a little bitmore advanced and also too, it records very, very high quality and you can see just fromthe recording is called the Canon T3i Rebel.

And I'm not going to take the credit thatI found this.

This was actually recommended to me by my good friend Gideon Shalwick fromGideonShalwick.

Com and he uses a little more advanced camera which is the next model upbut for me, I'm happy with this one because this one has been really focused on allowingme to record videos.

And just again, it does have an external mic so the great thing isI can plug this mic that I've got on clipped on me straight into the camera and start toshare with you.

So what I'll do is I'll put the link belowbut it's called the Canon T3i Rebel which is an SLR camera and it allows you to be ableto record well, videos up to at least 12 minutes or so then after that you can edit it fromthere.

Now, one word of caution, these cameras theseparticular Canon cameras record very, very large file and there's little trick that I'mgoing to share in the future video on how to be able to get this sent over to your videoeditor in a smaller format and I think apparently right now it records up to about 300MB perminute so if you're going to do a 10-minute video, it's going to be about 3GB which isquite big.

Whereas in comparison, the Kodak Zi8, for about a 5-minute video that I usedto record, it will only be about 200-300MB so it's a fraction of that size so you justhave to take that in consideration when you're working with you and outsourcing it over toyour video editor overseas.

All right so yeah, these are really the twocameras that I highly recommend.

Make sure that whenever you're getting a camera, you'llalso get a lapel mic which is what I'm currently holding right now, you can sort of see iton me.

But basically it's just a mic that just clips onto you and plug it straight intoyour camera and it gives you much, much better quality of sound.

And you can pick up these for like $30 orso from like Dick Smith or Tandy store and that's what I've done.
