The Gaming Laptop For Pro Gamers!

Hey how's it going Dave 2D here And in front of me is a laptop that will turn you into an MLG pro gamer This is the Asus GL703 SCAR And they have two variants to this product so this is the scar version That's geared towards first-person shooter games And then they have something called the hero Edition Which is geared towards MOBAs So things like dota and leaked But I'm more interested in first for some shooters I'm just better at those types of games So is interested in this particular variant Now the thing that makes this thing special The thing that makes this a first persion shooter oriented device Is entirely the screen And when you look at the hardware I've done a review of it's smaller brother to 15 inch 503 And surprisingly the components are very similar Like the build quality of the keyboard That even the battery size is like almost identical So I'm not gonna do a full review of this deviceThat even the battery size is like almost identical So I'm not gonna do a full review of this device Because just I've basically done the full review I'm gonna focus mostly no the screen But I'm just gonna go through I guess its main componenis just in case you guysare curious Ok let's start with the keyborad Pretty good keyborad nothing super special about it good layout roomy with RGB lighting But the keys are a little bit softer than you might expect The trackpad think it's a nice design overall One thing you'll notice that there isn't a single drop of red on this entire laptop When it's off when it's on there's like a red power butten And I guess the top logo lights up red But it's a really king of plain looking laptop which I like I think this is a nice transiton away from the classic Republic of games thing that Asus has done in the past like just red everywhere I like this an I think next year we're just gonna see even more not super read laptop which is great The build quality on this thing really good $1600 for a gaming laptop is certainly not cheap So you expect good build quality and they deliver The one thing that I don't love about this in terms of the build quality I just the build in general is that the bottom panel is very difficult to open I had this problem with the 503 As well there's an hatch that you can get into just for the cities like the RAM And the storage and stuff like that but if you want to access the fans or the Wi-Fi card Just stuff that's inside this bottom panel is not easy to remove their screws they come off but it's just a pain Now the laptop has 16 gigs of RAM pre-installed You can easily upgrade it to 32 by adding a single stick The fans are definitely audible but they don't get too loud in game And thermal performance is not bad as well you can definitely play for extended periods of time without issues The battery life on this laptop isn't great it's a 64 watt hour battery And I'm only getting around two-and-a-half hours of battery life with the screen at 215 It's now there are devices with a 17 inch screen that have like 99 watt hour batteries But the reason why this one is short well as short as it is is mostly because of the screen So this screen is the main attraction of this laptop And the reason why I'm even doing this video is because I think that this is one of the most impressive screens I've seen on a 17 inch device so it's a 120 Hertz panel and it's a TN panel So it's a 120 Hertz panel and it's a TN panel now before you just want to take a huge steaming dump on the fact that TN panel I've seen a lot of laptop screens and yes for the most part TN panels are terrible understand that But this one is very good I've seen another laptop Here's the msi raiders those also have a TN panel which are also really good But this is 120 Hertz But it's 5 milliseconds so it's very fast response time And when you're playing shooters it feels like you're playing on a high-end desktop monitors just a really nice looking screen The visuals are good the colors pop everything looks really smooth unfortunately you're watching this video at 24 frames per second So you can't see the full 120 frames per second But it is a really impressive looking screen Now there's two kind of issues this thing first it doesn't have G sync and that's not something that I like I'm not worried about it But I feel like on paper some people might be upset by it Because there are other laptops that do have 120 Hertz panels that do support Gsync But I mean this screen blows most screens out of the water Just because of how quick the response rate is Now depending on how you run your games This may or may not affect you and I think that Kind of leads to the next question of the fact that this laptop is only running a gtx 1060 And this makes this laptop very niche of a product and okay let me explain I think a lot of people gonna look at this and be like why does this thing only have a GTX 1060 Why don't they put a 1070 or any Matt 1080 in it Forget about the heating issues and all that stuff but you would think that a laptop with a 120 Hertz 5 Millisecond screen should ave like a really high-end graphics card in it right And I would agree but if you're looking at the price point You want to be able to supply a laptop for people that are really hardcore like competitively into games And if you look at any competitive gaming they're always running their stuff at the lowest graphics settings Because they just want the highest framerate possible and when you do that on this laptop if you take any of the competitive shooter games Like overwatch csgo if you run those games that even high graphics settings you're already above that target of 120 frames per second So yeah you could put a 1070 or try to put a 1080 in here But a lot of those frames would just be wasted because you're not even able to see it And the person who's buying this doesn't want super-high graphics quality that's just not what this was for So if that's what you're in the market for if you want to play witcher 3 at like 10,000 frames per second this is not that laptop But if you're looking to be slightly more competitive in your first-person shooter games This is a great pick up it's not cheap But i think of all the laptops that I've seen for people that are really hardcore about a particular shooter this is a really really good one Okay hope you guys enjoyed this video they're sticking that stuff into a more affordable lineup andso that's how you come up with this so the 60 to the ge62 from last year wasprobably their best-selling gaming laptop because it was an inexpensivelaptop with a gtx 1060 this is much improved across the board so the stuffthat's trickled in that 120 Hertz panel looks amazing if you've never seen onein real life you got a seen one because you can'tshowcase how cool these things are or how good they are for gaming just bywatching these videos you've got to see it in real life the new individually litRGB keyboard is pretty crazy and the last thing they're going for is justimproved performance across the board so because of the improved thermal solutionyou can now stick a gtx 1070 into this chassis so at this price point you canexpect a certain level of build quality right and it's there for the most partthe top panel is metal it's got that brushed finish and it looks pretty goodI don't love the red dragon but whatever and the keyboard deck is metal as wellthere's no play or soft spots or anything it's a very well-built laptopthe bottom panel is plastic not that it's bad or anything it actually feelswell-made but it would have been nice if it was metal ports election is asexpected there's three use bj's and a u s-- pc but it doesn't support that aboutthree okay first I'm going to talk about the things that I do like the screen isreally good as 120 Hertz screen looks good the color accuracy is there thebrightness is there it's a great screen for gaming it has a three millisecondresponse time which is actually the fastest laptop screen on the marketright now I'm obviously not a pro gamer but games feel incredibly fluid on thisdisplay it is a TN panel but that's how you're getting the super fast responserate and it's great image for a TN panel the one thing I would have to complainabout though is that because it's a TN panel the viewing angles aren't as goodthe moment you tilt it on any axis there is noticeable color shift the keyboardis also something that I really liked just bass keyboard itself is verycomfortable to type on great layout good keystroke the RGB lighting on this thingis seriously the most comprehensive lighting system I've seen on a laptopkeyboard you can light up every single key that's not that new but there's likea whole bunch of features plus a hardware button here to switch betweenthe different configurations on-the-fly the trackpad is surprisingly good ituses synaptic drivers which was kind of disappointingbut it feels really good the gestures are a little off like they're not superaccurate but the tracking is good otherwise and the dedicated hardwarebuttons are nice now I think the best thing about this laptop is actually itsperformance so this thing's running at GTX 1060 you can get at 1070 but the1060 runs really well and performance in lights and even moderately demandinggames is just amazing with this 120 Hertz screen you can obviously play moredemanding games but you won't be able to show off the screen as nicely so that'sone of the things that I think this whole laptop industry has been shiftedtowards you want to be able to showcase your amazing graphics cards by gettingreally high refresh screens if you're not if you're capped at a 60 Hertzscreen there's no point in having a GTX 1080 on a laptop like you're not be ableto see those extra frames that your card can push out so this is a really nicecombination the fan noise is also very acceptable on idle it's pretty quietunload it's not too bad but if you want to you can hit the cooler boost buttonand I'll just crank the fans to max and this will give you the best possibleframe rates it's super loud but if you're rendering a video or playingsomething that's just really intense you'll want to hit that button and thefact that they have it is really nice I wish more laptops had something likethis the thermals on this laptop are good it has seven heat pipes in therewhich is pretty nuts I can't speak for the gtx 1070 configuration but on thisone the one with the gtx 1060 there's no throttling and the externaltemperatures are very comfortable as well there are a few things that Idislike about this laptop and they're not super important but I feel like Ishould mention them in case it affects your purchase decision first are thespeakers so MSI markets these things as having three times the size of their oldspeakers and they are really large if you look inside they almost look likebatteries but they still don't sound great they sound kind of average I meanthey sound like a $1,200 gaming laptop would I was expecting something moresubstantial because of how large those speakers are but they still sound verynormal to me I wasn't particularly impressed the other thing I don't loveis the battery life it's a 51 watt hour battery and I'm getting just over threehours of use with the screen at 215 and that's kind of below average consideringall the components in here and that doesn't have g-sync right so this panelis just a simple 120 Hertz panel it doesn't have G sync so it does haveOptimus but even with that technology battery life is a little short itdoesn't affect me because I'm not using this for like extended periods of timeswhen I'm out there but for people that wanna use this for school or whateveryou're gonna have to bring your charger with you because three hours is notgoing to cut it the last thing I dislike about this laptop is the accessibilityor the lack of it now EMA site laptops are not the easiest ones to open theyusually make it a little bit more difficult and they often have a stickerthat says you know don't open this thing but this particular laptop is extra hardand it sucks because inside there there's two nvme slots there's one SATAdrive and two RAM slots so there's a lot of room for upgrade ability and stuffbut it's very difficult to get in there without chipping or breaking the frameand because this is a review unit I don't want to go ham just crack thething but that's basically it a few things that I dislike about it but theoverall laptop I really like I think MSI is gonna sell a lot of Jumper EZBook 3 Pro V4 - The Best Budget Laptop Just Got Better

so I'm back here now with Jumper's EZBook 3 Pro but this time around it's the fourth revision so version numberfour and they keep improving on us so all the revisions they've made minorlittle tweaks and changes this time around we have a new touch pad it's aprecision one there's now a little tiny hatch on the bottom to easily installand upgrade and add your own SSD it has to be twenty-two by forty to spec so itshould just be the one or two screws on there you don't have to remove the wholerear case like you did with the previous models and there's also been a change inthe BIOS they have allowed us to now disable those power limits so there's noneed to do the hack if you do have a previous model then of course you canjust do that software hack but every time you reboot the system you need toreapply it and what it basically allows us to do is exceed the standard TDP theyhave on there the power limits so doing so increases performance it allows theGPU to clock a little bit higher it can hold the turbos a bit longer so itshould be the fastest and best version yet of the jumper EZBook 3 Prowhich is basically the best of the apolar Lake notebooks that I havereviewed no one seems to be able to come close to this one in terms of thekeyboard than full metal build and the IPS panel has in here so let's check itout and have a look at those changes so thanks to some of the guys on my websitethat pointed out that when they ordered from gearbest that they started to shipthis new revision otherwise it wouldn't really be aware of this one so pick thisone up here from our own personal use I sold my version 3-1 in order to get thisbecause I want them more improved better model here with the better touchpad andthat power limit disabled so the box looks exactly the same as the previousversions I can't see anything marking here that is in fact the version fourand the specs you probably know them so it's got six gigabytes of RAM that it'sactually in dual channel to three gigabyte chips they're samsung ones 64gigabyte eat MMC I think it's a Samsung but I'll take a look at that and ofcourse it's powered by the Apollo rake in 34 50 and it has a 1080p 13.

actually install a fullsize 20 to 60 or 20 to 80 then you need to remove all these screws around theoutside break the plastic that's around here it's got like a plastic framearound in there and you can install the larger SSDs so jumper made some changesto the BIOS and that is that we can now go along and disable that power limit onthere so under the CPU settings go along to CPU power management and you'll findalong here that it says Parliament 1 enabled if you go along and set this nowto disabled this will in turn disable all of the power limits the CPU will useas much power as it wants it will shorten battery life now there is a goodcopper heatsink on this laptop so thermals it shouldn't reach them orthrottling it level but it will get hotter than by leaving that on defaultso if you're not happy with that and the stock performance is fine foryou then I recommend it's not touching this at all and leaving it alonenow previous models like the version 3 you could tweak the emmc but here youcan on this model they've used a different grade of MMC I think it's nolonger a MMC 5 spec so before what you do is go into the chipset the SCCsetting and you change this setting to high-speed 400 but I'm just gonna leaveit as stock there because when I put it on to 400 it gave me a blue screen so atleast on this one or my batch it's not gonna workone minor change here as well as they do have the latest Windows 10 imageon here so we've got English Spanish Russian and Chinese as the initiallanguages on this Windows 10 home okay so we through all the windows setup ofcourse I just wanted to show you a couple of things so there is a bit of acon here that the MMC is very poor here this is a generic in card in myexperience that'll be either a for C or B win one I won't know until I actuallytake the whole back office and physically look at it but they don'ttend to be very fast at all so this has come at the cost of the improvementshaving that precision touchpad which you can see here it's definitely a precisiontouchpad you can control those gestures I've been using it now just a little bitand it is so much better than the original one we used to have that wasjust a standard one and quite a average poor touchpad on that so Windows whenyou first get it installed and while setup we have forty five point sixgigabytes free there and I'm just benchmarking now the drive here to seehow fast it is and it's not looking very fast at all but so far I haven't reallynoticed any slowdown getting around Windows because of this Drive so a fewuses in my form have also pointed out that there is this application herethat's within that Windows 10 image me ming-mingwind clients it doesn't look good at all like some sort of backdoor or trojan butvirus scans sulphides come up clean I think it's got something to do with thisChinese app on here I don't know what it is anyone read Chinese well there'll bea few of you out there please let me know what this actually says and nowthat emmc benchmark is just finishing up you can see not very fast at all it'sMMC four point five point one spec and I highly recommend going with one of thesean SSD that really opens and speed things up not only does it give you morestorage of course just applications load up faster boot times slightly faster aswell and overall it just feels a little bit quicker I have also noticed that thetexture of the touchpad now is a little bit rougher here so it's got more of amatte coating to the other one was a little bit smoother shinierthat probably helps too but overall so far using this touchpad really impressedwith it it's definitely so much better than the original one there used andjust double checking here with HW info that yes the power limits were disabledyou can see along here it says power unlimited time unlimited so it willturbo for as long as it wants and use as much power as it needs okay so there wego that's the jumper easy book 3 Pro the version number 4 or the revision number4 that they've done on this so that kept tweaking and improving it and it reallyis an amazing laptop for the price considering what you're getting at IPSpanel really good battery life you get about 8 hours out of this now the ApolloLake is not a powerhouse of a chipset but with that power limit disabled itperforms a lot better than other notebooks out there that do not let ustweet that seating at all the improved touchpad is a welcome change and in factthey're most welcome to change their on that is the best thing they've done isget rid of that kind of crappy touchpad they had on the previous one so a hugeimprovement there now other things of course like thateasy access slot just means getting an SSD and there's a little bit easier alittle bit faster and as I mentioned I have done a full review of this laptopbut that was the first model that was released so this is even better now butmake sure you check that out if you haven't really for the 220 or so us thisis selling for you cannot get any better and trust me I've tested now probablyabout six or seven of these Apollo Lake laptops and this one tops all of themand if they continue with this kind of trend hopefully the new Gemini Lakelaptop that's going to be coming out next year probably by then that's thesuccessor to the Apollo Lake will be something really good and hopefully alsoaround this price range thanks for watching this unboxing and just previewreally of the changes that they've made on the EZBook 3 Pro.

The PERFECT Mobile Production Workstation?! - EVGA SC15 Laptop Editing Performance

If you know me or have followed my contentfor some time, you know that I’m super picky about my editing platforms.

The NLE software I edit with is of key importance,and the hardware and expected performance while editing affect my motivation, patience,and the overall end result.

That’s why my main rig holds an Intel Corei7-6900K, 32GB of RAM, a GTX 1080, and many SSDs.

But lately, I’ve been editing on a laptop- the EVGA SC15 with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ - and I’ve honestly not noticed a differencein performance.

It’s been great - let’s take a look.

[intro] I’m a badly-sunburned EposVox, here to maketech easier and more fun - today finally admitting that it is possible for me to do my productionwork on the go.

I explained during my unboxing of the EVGASC15 that this laptop is packed with specs - a quad core, 8 thread Intel Core i7-7700HQprocessor, 16 gigabytes of DDR4 memory, a GTX 1060, Thunderbolt 3, and a 1080 IPS 120hzGSync IPS display.

While these specs are amazing for gaming,they’re also great for editing and production, too.

This thing handled multitasking across Premiereand After Effects with no problem, and actually handles editing quite well.

Even with sluggish, H264 compressed footage,timeline performance is great and I ran into no issues with stuttering or slowdown.

I pulled up the task manager view to watchall 8 threads going to town on the footage.

The hyperthreaded CPU and included NvidiaGPU allow me to handle footage and effects in realtime with minimal slowdown - but thatscreen! IPS is glorious for video accuracy in editing,and 120hz feels so responsive for desktop work like this.

Admittedly, 1080p is quite the downgrade frommy multiple 4K monitor editing setup I normally use, so I had to develop a new workspace toadapt to the smaller screen real estate, but it worked out.

Plus, I just picked up a new professionalproduction monitor and thanks to the multitude of display outputs on the SC15, I was ableto hook up and run my new monitor with this laptop, giving me not only the main screenfor panels and such, but then a full 4096 by 2160 for my main editing timeline.

Now THAT was a fun edit.

The M.

2 NVMe boot SSD also gets used for temporarystorage and cache in my video editor, which helps speed up playback and editing significantly,and once I get proper accessories for it - that Thunderbolt 3 port will allow me to use veryfast external storage for production on the go.

In fact, I made a full sit-stand setup basedaround this laptop’s Thunderbolt 3 port - if you haven’t seen that video already.

Surprisingly, the laptop didn’t get superloud during editing like it does with gaming.

I guess the beefier cooling works on the GPUand video production only utilizes the GPU minimally, so I had a pleasant and not jet-engine-likesound experience, too.

The only point at which I really noticed thatthis machine was running slower than my main desktop rig was during rendering.

While all 8 threads went to work and torethrough footage more quickly than most machines I have, it was still a little slower thanmy desktop - but that’s to be expected.

I’m seriously impressed with how well thisperformed and I’m much more likely to take my work on the go to local shops, libraries,or parts now that I have something to produce on.

So yes, my hardened “Desktop master race”stance has crumbled down a little bit.

I can pretty confidently say the EVGA SC-15provides desktop-class performance and connectivity in a relatively small form factor, which isnot a claim I’ve ever expected to hold up.

Dell XPS 13: The Most Powerful Thin Laptop?

- Hey guys, this is Austin.

This plain-looking box containsone of the most exciting laptops I've seen in quite a while.

This is the Dell XPS 13.

I really do like the LG Gram.

So, we've already donea full video on this.

What's nice is, is thatwhen I'm at the office, I can plug it in via USB-Cto a monitor and use it like a desktop for stufflike email and notes.

When I'm on the go, not onlydoes it have some of the best battery life I've ever tested, but it's also superlightweight and portable.

That's where the XPS 13 comes in.

(tapping) (thudding)Ahhhhh.

So the XPS 13 has been aroundfor a couple years now.

But, this is the most recent version.

What makes it reallyspecial is that it is one of the very first laptops to ship with the eighth generationIntel Core processors.

Now, normally, that doesn'tsound like it would be any kind of huge difference, but in this case, it means that it's going to be a lot faster.

At least, I hope so.

One of the nice things aboutthe XPS 13 is that it actually is made out of aluminum.

I can immediately tell that,while it is definitely a little bit heavier than the Gram,it feels really substantial.

Pop this guy open, and oneof the first things you're going to see is the fairlylarge 13.

3-inch display and a very, very small chassis.

So, when the XPS 13 first came out, this sort of bezel was really impressive.

Now, it's getting alittle bit more common, but it still looks really nice.

The outside of the XPS 13 is all aluminum, but on the inside it hasthis carbon fiber finish.

It actually feels pretty good.

It almost feels a little bit more rubbery than you would expect out of carbon fiber.

But, it's nice and comfortable.

There's also a nice selection of ports.

So, not only do we have our power in, but we also have a Thunderbolt 3 port, which you can also useto power the laptop, a USB 3.

0 port, headphone jack, as well as the battery indicator, which looks like it's dead, which is cool.

If we flip it over to the other side, what you're going to findis another USB 3.

0 port as well as a full size SD card reader.

Having that Thunderbolt 3 port is nice, as not only does itdouble as a USB-C port, but you can also do stuff likeconnect a 4K monitor to it, accept power in, and intheory, you could connect it to an external GPU forbetter gaming performance, although unfortunately, itonly uses two lanes of PCIe, which means that's probablynot going to be a great idea.

It will get bottlenecked.

The display is 13.

3 incheswith a 1080p resolution, but it is not a touch screen.

If you want that, you have toupgrade to the 1800p model, which is a lot more expensive.

Now, I actually like 1080p as I feel like it's a good sorta sweet spot between screen resolutionas well as battery life, and this panel is decent.

So, the color is fine, viewing angles are solid.

However, it just doesn't get quite as bright as I would like.

The biggest problem withthe display is that means that the webcam has to beput in the left corner, which means that it looks really weird.

Not only are you looking up at my nose, but I'm always looking tothe side of the laptop.

This laptop might have some of the best battery life in the world.

- And this laptop haspretty decent speakers.

So, one of my issues with theGram was that the speakers were a little bit tinny.

However, here, even thoughthey're not front firing, they come out the sides, it sounds a lot better.

I also like the keyboard and trackpad.

So, the keyboard has nicespacing, the feel is good, and it's backlit.

The trackpad uses WindowsPrecision drivers.

So, no, it's not quiteas good as something like a glass trackpad on a MacBook,but it is right up there.

My only real issue isthat to get a touchscreen, you have to pay another $350, which to me is kind of hard to justify.

What really makes this newXPS 13 stand out though are those eighthgeneration Core processors.

Now, typically, when yougo from one processor to the next as far as generations go, it's usually not a huge difference.

But with this guy, we're goingfrom dual-core processors to quad-core.

And in a small, thin, andlight laptop like this, that makes a huge difference.

This XPS 13 is powered by the i7-8550U.

So, the base clock is 1.

8 gigahertz, but it's almost always above that as you guys will see in a minute.

It can turbo all the wayup to four gigahertz.

Now, that's backed up byeight gigabytes of RAM and a 256 gig NVMe SSD.

Run this guy through Geekbench, I legitimately had totriple check my results.

Not only is this one of thefastest laptops I've ever tested as far as single thread performance goes, but even with multi thread,it is right up there with high-end Core i7s fromgaming laptops of last year.

One thing to keep in mindis that this is still a 15-watt processor, sofor longer, sustained use, such as gaming or rendering, you will see the clock speed start to dip.

But, for most stuff likevideo editing or web browsing, you're gonna see it be incredibly fast.

Unfortunately, gamingperformance doesn't see the same kind of gains.

So, here on Rocket League,we're getting anywhere between 40 to 50 framesper second at 720p quality, which is fine for lighter titles, but it's really not goingto see a major benefit over something like Skylake or Kaby Lake.

Under normal usage, thelaptop is basically silent.

However, once you fireup something like a game or some video editing, you'llsee that the fan does get a little bit noisy.

Dell claims that you canget 13 hours of battery life streaming video, and about22 hours of light usage, which might be a littlebit of an exaggeration, but with a 60 watt-hour battery,it should absolutely last you all day.

There is a lot to like with the XPS 13.

So at $1300, I feel like this spec is a little bit expensive.

However, once you can actuallyget a Core i5 in this guy, and especially if theyadded a more affordable touchscreen version, thisis gonna be hard to beat.

I am really excited to seethese new processors roll out to more and more laptops.

Having this much power insuch a thin and light laptop, honestly is a game changer for me.
