Today NorthBoys is back with another laptopreview And the one we are reviewing today is theHP OMEN 2017 This one comes with the GTX 1050Ti This is the gaming laptop series from HP This laptop is priced at around $1300-$1400 With this price point this laptop is expectedto give us a Mid-Tier level product, no longer entry-level Why do we wanted to review this laptop ? Because the OMEN brand from HP is in the hyperight now, people are craving for the brand HP as a brand has never created a successfulgaming laptop series before OMEN however really is booming in the market We are curious at its performance I am going to talk a bit about the logo overhere OMEN logo itself is actually a logo from VoodooPC in which voodoo PC is a PC brand that is acquiredby HP this logo itself is actually a tribal maskused by those who practice voodoo practices it comes with i7-7700HQ, GTX1050Ti, and 258GBSSD + 1TB HDD for the more complete specification you guyscould check down below on the description tab just to make it simple, let's do the unboxing we straight up opening the box the box itself is big and long the manual over here, really big we put itaside for now warranty card and whatnot and this is the laptop in this box right here there are the powercord and brick quite a thin design on the power brick that was all, we put all other things asidefirst now we focus on the laptop unit this is it, OMEN by HP 2017 There is the logo over here and there aregaming accents Red accents, carbon and brushed metal finishand OMEN writings over here from the shape itself it shows that they areaiming for a very "gaming" look over the top below are all embossed, and we still got thedetails these kinds of accents, with the logo presenthere as well, and they are still including the omen writings here Real cool looking design for gamers straight to the ports, on the right side ofthe display there are Power Jack, USB 3.

6" DIsplay Metal material inside comes with the Bang & Olufsen speaker it has been proven to be quite great in qualityas we had previously reviewed laptops using speakers from them as well there are dedicated left and right click buttonright here for the touchpad which felt good first impression for the keyboard is quiteok let us boot the laptop up and it comes with the backlit keyboard because the keycaps are colored red on theside, it looks light the backlit is red color however if we see at the WASD keys, it isactually white backlit color this makes it looks more colorful and vibrant the laptop is on and we are in windows now let's start the gaming and benchmarking tests now we are going to start the benchmarkingfor OMEN 2017 GTX 1050Ti first we are using the Cinebench R15 GPU we got 80.
76FPS on OpenGLCPU we got 744cb these scores are still in the standard rangefor GTX 1050Ti and i7-7700 to the next one, still testing the GTX 1050Tihere we are using Benchmark Valley we got 38.
1FPS and scored 1593 these scores are again still in the rangeof GTX 1050Ti with a little higher FPS on to the last one, we are using Heaven DX11,yet again testing the GPU we got 48.
7FPS and scored at 1227 only 10 FPS difference with benchmark valley this shows that maybe it only performs slightlydifferent on particle rendering and texturing both are ok now we are going to start the gaming test the first game we are going to test is theGTA V at very high settings straight to the in-game benchmarking here on average for every scenes accordingto the scenes itself, day or night, scenery or planes we got around 60-70 up to 110, fluctuatesbut it is good because it is over 60 all of the time on the last car chase scene, quite stableat around 80 FPS into the last crashing scene, lowest pointis at 71 then bounces back to around 80 this shows that playing GTA V on very highsettings would not be below 60, very smooth for the second game is the Witcher 3 here we are using medium preset settings because 1050Ti is much more suitable to runmedium in this game straight to the gameplay, while idle and runningwe got around 50 FPS 55,56,58 into the combat, it drops to around 53-54,still in the 50s still playable, quite smooth as well we could say that medium is the most preferablefor OMEN 15 for Witcher 3 for the last game we are using PUBG, PlayerUnknown'sBattleGround here we are using low preset settings we are expecting 1050Ti to be able to handlelow settings here on plane we got around 60FPS, dropping fromplane opening the chute, with fogs resulting in varying results around 50-80FPS while on the land, on some scenes we noticethat it gets below 50 a bit, 57-58 while opening menu while roaming it is varying between 70-80,even maxing at 90, lowest at 57 just now with that result, we could say that the gameplaywill be smooth, will be over 60 for low settings PUBG we have done the benchmarking and gaming justnow we could see that actually the performanceis quite good for gaming really great for gaming, and for heat management temperature from the CPU itself is below 70degree celcius this shows that the heat management of thislaptop is also good so for gaming performance, there are no issuesat all here now we are going to talk about the designand form factor firstly we are talking about the touchpad in which there are dedicated left and rightclicks the buttons are very responsive and clickylight, so we could easily press it rapidly and not get tired easily which makes the touchpad here more responsivebecause it is not pressable there is a very unique keyboard feature hereas well as you can see now, off state we press fn + F4 and it all lights up as you guys can see because the keycaps hereare red, backlit looks like red WASD keys got no red coloring so the backlghtingis white color if we press fn + F4 one more time, red keycapsare off leaving WASD to be highlighted in white backlighting a delight for gamers who are using WASD keys press once again to turn the lighting off so we could highlight the WASD like this as we can see we could turn it on and offreal good but what put me off is the keyboard placementitself it is quite weird for me, i do not know whyit might be that i am not used to it but as i tried just now it felt a bit weird,i typo-ed quite a lot my feelings said that the keys are augmenteda bit to the left for example if i am going to click A, S ispressed a bit skewed i am also confused, it might not be like thatat all but the sure thing is when me and my crewtried the laptop, we got the same feeling a bit weird speaker placement for now, we have tried thespeaker quality and it is really good channels are all felt through, left middleright have all been tested and the placement over here is really great when we are playing like this, it gives avery immersive experience left right and middle and all that coincides with the exhaust placement on here all facing backwards, no interruption to left and right really great as what i said before, the laptop does notheat up at all the next one is the display for the display, you guys could see that thecolors are ok but it is not bright enough set the brightness to the max and yet onlylike this if we compare it to other displays, it loses just not very bright as the down point forthe display all other things on this laptop is reallygreat however from the design perspective, OMENdoes not shy away from showing that they are making laptop for gamers with its shape and accents like this, verygaming laptop looking that could be your preference, whether youguys prefer these kind of design, or just the plain ones if you guys really like gaming looking laptop,OMEN could be for you guys so that was it our review for HP OMEN 15 2017GTX 1050Ti do not forget to like the videos,share itto your friends, subscribe to our channel NorthBoys, and comment down below if you guysgot requests for us to review anything tech related I am BOLA, Signing out!.
